After eight races announced in June, in the first minutes of the Styrian Grand Prix free practice, Formula 1 has made a new announcement about this year’s race calendar.
According to them, after Monza, the racing circus will remain in Italy and the next race will be hold in Mugello, followed directly by Sochi, and the Russian Grand Prix may follow. The goal remains to organize 15-18 races in 2020.
Liberty Media thanked the organizers and local authorities, whose work will allow them to host the Formula 1 Grand Prix for the first time in Mugello and for the seventh time in Russia.
The exact dates of the two competition weekends announced are as follows:
11-13 September – FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DELLA TOSCANA
25 – 27 September – FORMULA 1 VTB RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX 2020

Chase Carey, President and CEO of Formula 1, said he was very happy with the arrival of two more races and would like to thank everyone for their efforts:
“The support of our partners in the past few weeks has been very important. We got off with a great start in Austria and we are more and more confident that we will be competing all the way to the rest of the year 2020. It is a great thing that we can return to Russia, and it is also huge news that we are organizing a competition in Mugello as well. This will give a huge boost to our fans, to whom we will soon be able to provide another good news, as the full competition calendar will arrive in the coming weeks!”
