The first practice of the Italian Grand Prix was pretty sleepy. Red Bull Racing was the only one with measured time for a long time, then the others lined up slowly.
The new element was provided by the presence of a kind of ‘public’, represented by the 250 healthcare professionals lucky to follow the events closely. The first 30 minutes of the free practice were dominated by Alexander Albon, under the flags of Red Bull, who took over Max Verstappen, then, after a short period of time Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas also ‘showed up’. Then nothing happened for quite a long time, but later Max Verstappen made the harts race, when he crashed his car on Ascari, thereby smashing the car’s front part.

This event lead to the red flag. Following the restart, Bottas increased his advantage and at the end, he also won the race. On the other hand, Ferrari continued where they left off in Spa: George Russell replaced Roy Nissany during the first practice and he overtook Sebastian Vettel.
