Lately, Kimi Raikkönen has been much more a father than a racing driver. Besides the trainings for the season, the iceman has devoted all his time to his family, and he admitted that it will be quite strange for him to return to the track.
Many say that the Alpha driver is so used to being at home that he doesn’t even misses to return to the racetracks. This could easily mean that he would decide to retire at the end of the year…
“I’ve spent the past few months in Finland with my family, we didn’t go out too much. It was like a long vacation. I myself don’t really regret that there will be fewer people in the paddock due to the restrictions, and the media won’t be missed at all, I sincerely hope they’ll stay at home.” – stated the returning driver in his funny way for the press.
Not only was Kimi doing great without the media staff, but he could happily live without other factors closely related to F1 as well:
“I don’t mind at all that I haven’t lived my life on airplanes in the past few months. A lot of traveling is not a normal thing, spending time with my family – rather it is. Flying takes a lot of time from my loved ones, who are most important to me. ” – said Raikkonen, who also revealed that he is not yet thinking about retiring, he’ll wait and see how the season will go.
