Recently Toto Wolff was a common figure in the press, first by analyzing the situation of Sebastian Vettel, then by attacking the idea of a reversed starting grid. These combined were a little too much for Mattia Binotto.
The leader of Scuderia Ferrari was many times annoyed by the competitions attacking him in the press and he did not forget to reply this time as well:
‘It is pretty offensive that Mercedes tried to sabotage the possibility of the reversed starting grid. This was man opportunity never to return, out of ten teams nine would have agreed, but not them, because they only think about themselves … This is very sad for our sport as well.’

He spoke his mind also concerning Vettel’s contract:
‘I think we were fair with Seb, when we decided in due time, how to continue. This way he had time to find his place and did not have to move from a checkmate situation. Personally, I would be very happy if Mercedes embraced him. He is a top racer and deserves to drive cars, which may lead him to the World Champion title.’ – concluded Binotto with a bizarre calmness.
