Quoting reliable sources, the British specialised press considers it a certainty that Valtteri Bottas will be part of the German F1 team in 2021 also.
The expected announcement could not only settle Bottas’ future; filling one of the entire competition’s most sought-after seats will surely also affect next year’s drivers’ market.
The magazine in question believes that the Finnish pilot, who is currently leading the WC classification, and Mercedes struck the deal after the Styrian Grand Prix. The president Ola Kallenius’ statement given to Sky Sports was rather telling, where the Swede let it slip that “we’ll be continuing with the lads”…

Valtteri Bottas himself also confirmed this information, when, before the second Austrian race, he said that he could be coming to a deal with his team soon. The driver also highlighted that the constant speculations surrounding his future are very bothersome, so he will be happy have the deal be done.
We think it is quite possible that Bottas’ official contract extension could take place during the Hungarian Grand Prix.
