Red Bull might start from an unexpected disadvantage!

The new season hasn’t even started yet and Red Bull Racing, which is considered as the biggest challenger of Mercedes (and Ferrari) might already be at disadvantage.

In fact, the Austrian stables, marked by the name of Max Verstappen, do not have the proper technology to test everything according to the rules, before the season opening. These sections state that one might only drive a car that is at least two years older than the current machine, but they might not be able to carry out the test according to these rules for a rather banal reason. The problem is due to a different type of resource used recently, as in contrast to the current Honda engines, the energy drinkers still used Renault engines in the 2018 RB14 cars and it seems like there is no “loophole”.

Thus, while the biggest rivals (pilots, engineers, team members) will arrive in Austria with one or two testing days of experience, Verstappen will probably be able to drive an F1 car again only at the first practice session of the Austrian Grand Prix. Here’s another excitement factor in the already complicated situation!
