The extension of Charles Leclerc’s contract, Sebastian Vettel’s expulsion, already promises a spicy season but that’s nothing compared to what’s coming. According to McLaren chief, Zak Brown, Scuderia is under a lot of tension, and sooner or later, it’s going to explode tremendously.
Zak Brown is directly involved in Ferrari’s situation, as the Reds are replacing Vettel with their pilot next season:
“All I know is that Ferrari’s depot won’t be the happiest place in Formula One paddocks. The atmosphere is far from familiar and that is putting it mildly – and in my opinion, this situation promises serious excitement and great races. What we saw last year in Brazil is just a little preview of what will happen in 2020”.

The head of McLaren also revealed why didn’t they get Vettel, although they would have had the opportunity to do so: „Seb is an exceptional pilot but we already had other plans. We were thinking of two options: either we go on with Carlos or we choose Daniel Ricciardo. We’ve always had an honest relationship with Sainz, so when his role at Ferrari became apparent, that decided our case as well.” – Brown revealed the background details.
