Apparently the Scuderia SF1000 project failed even before being implemented live. At least this is the conclusion illustrated by the team’s tactics.
Ferrari prepared with serious developments the season opening, however these might be admired only at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Mattia Binotto spoke about their progress and about their situation, compared to the competition:
‘The car to be used in Austria will be the same used within the Barcelona tests. We have put some serious efforts into the developments, whereas we had only five weeks to prepare. We worked under severe circumstances, especially because of the coronavirus pandemic and therefore we did not manage to be ready with everything on time.

We are aware of the fact that we don’t have the best cards, we knew this before the postponing of the Austrian Grand Prix. However, there are some good aspects as well. The Red Bull Ring suits us better than the Melbourne Ring. The weather conditions will be better than in February and we will have to do everything in order to exploit all the technical advantages.
The first races will be about survival. However, in Hungary we will race with serious developments and we are sure that we will have great results.’ – stated the team leader, who is well aware of the fact that while they were working, the competition was not sleeping either.
